Our NatureQuest programs are specifically designed for those people who yearn to deepen their connection with Nature, but would prefer a shorter program than the standard ten to twelve day Sacred Passage. Our programs follow the path of a true Nature Quest: questing deeply into one's true Nature and its natural union with the mystery of outer Nature. In this sense, a Nature Quest follows the ancient pattern of the classical Vision Quest. NatureQuest programs follow the same basic structure of Awareness Training and wilderness solo time as in a Sacred Passage program, but from a two day up to a nine day format. The two or three day NatureQuests typically run over a weekend, and can be extended slightly by starting on a friday to allow for a three day NatureQuest. The longest NatureQuest is nine days, usually starting on a Saturday as a travel/arrival day and ending nine days later on a sunday, which is also the departure day.
Many of our NatureQuest programs are typically custom designed in response to a request for them to be offered in a particular region. For example, over the past four years (as of 2008), we have offered numerous NatureQuests in Sweden in partnership with Goran Gennvi of the Naturakademin and also with the Tallberg Forum. Most of these NatureQuests were held in the indigenous Sami Territory of North Central Mountain Region or on lovely islands along the Swedish Coast. More recently (August 2008), we collaborated with the IUCN in a NatureQuest for organizational leaders in the Swedish Archipelago of islands.
NatureQuest is a way that The Way of Nature Fellowship can reach areas where we have not had programs before. Many regional Fellowship groups request a NatureQuest program to be brought to their area when the study group is at a point that they could use further instruction. If you would like to host a NatureQuest in your area we encourage you to contact the Sacred Passage office for more details. |
