Yucatan Nature Quest
October 2nd - 8th, 2019
In the heart of the Mayan jungle, an awakening awaits. Delve into the wild beauty and healing of nature in a land held sacred to Mayan civilizations for millennia...
This October, Way of Nature is venturing South of the border into the wild, lush, mystical land of the Maya. Join us for a Nature Quest in the Yucatan, where cultural traditions and reverance for Nature live in harmony.
What is a Nature Quest?
The WoN Nature Quest is a mindfulness and meditation retreat that includes powerful awareness training with a skilled and knowledgeable teacher, and a guided AllOne time solo in Nature. Nature Quest creates an opportunity to receive Way of Nature teachings in a shorter retreat that is more accessible to most people. The fundamental purpose is to provide a simple and clear introduction to Natural Mindfulness. Utilizing the core principles of relaxation and presence, this practice helps refine the experiential fields of perception through a conscious, sensorial connection to your natural surroundings.
Experiencing a Nature Quest can have a deeply transforming effect on your life. This includes the ability to sink deeper into a state of relaxation and creativity, heightened awareness of your own energetic state as well as the energy fields around you, and releasing emotional and energetic blockages.
This Nature Quest with WoN founder John P. Milton will include a day of awareness training in meditation, qi gong, and energy practices, followed by 4 nights of AllOne time nature solo. Upon your emergence from AllOne Time, reintegration training, sharing and ceremony will conclude the retreat.
Awareness training will take place at Hacienda Itzincab Cámara, a restored Sisal Hacienda from the XVII century. Built on an ancient Mayan site southeast of Mérida, Hacienda Itzincab Cámara still boasts an imposing pyramid at its heart. Its fourteen bedrooms all have air conditioning and private baths. Common areas include the living room, dining room, and study, while the terraces are ideal for end-of-day relaxing. Itzincab’s lush gardens, with three swimming pools, surround the property, and are home to hundreds of exotic birds.
The AllOne Time nature solo will take place in nearby unrestored haciendas, where you may have all the benefits of the Yucatan wilderness without distraction. A uniquely designed “buddy system” with daily checkpoints allow you, your fellow Passagers and your guides to verify the safety of everyone involved, while still honoring your solitude. In addition, a base camp is located nearby, and a whistle call quickly alerts an adjoining solo partner or guide to your site.

Teacher and Guide
The teacher for this Yucatan Nature Quest will be Way of Nature founder, John P. Milton. John has been guiding others into Nature for over 30 years and is a true spiritual elder. Due to his wealth of knowledge and spontaneous nature, his teachings are shaped by a unique fluidity that accommodates each retreat in a way that is most helpful to the individual and group process of liberation at that time. No two teachings are ever the same.
